I don’t make a lot of tags. Tim (the most amazing) Holtz makes tags for just about everything. They are a great canvas for playing with techniques and making mini-masterpieces, but I have a hard time making art for art’s sake and I need to actively work more on Just Playing. In that vein, I decided to try the new challenge at CASE Study #166.

Here’s the inspiration

And here’s my take!

Case Study 166

I finally broke into my Close to My Heart Flirty collection pack. So the chipboard, papers and pin are from that collection. It was really hard for me to cut into a huge 12″ x 12″ piece of paper to cut out the little banners, but in the end, it was a little freeing. And hopefully, this will help me use it more! I spritzed the background with Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold and it sure does shimmer! I really wish I could make it show up better in this picture. This tag will also go well with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Ink Challenge. I’m not sure where this tag will end up, but for right now it can live online. 🙂

This is the first time I’ve made something to enter in more than one challenge. This is for the Lawnscaping Challenge on Tags and the Raisin Boat Challenge #6 Thank You. I used a Raisin Boat set I got from a friend called Central Park and some Lawn Fawn stamps that I’ve been wanting to play with called Blissful Botanicals.

Challenge Tag for Raisin Boat and Lawnscaping

I like that the tag looks quite layered even though there is only one layer. Then I added a little texture and dimension with the twine and button. Everything is colored with my Beloved Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Lately, I’ve been wanting to work on bringing in more elements and still having the finished card or tag look cohesive rather than chaotic.

Thanks for visiting!
