Thank you cards are always useful and they are great to have ready at a moment’s notice. There are a lot of November challenges that focus on Thank you cards and Raisin Boat and Shopping Our Stash are no exception. As I was digging around in my stamps, I unearthed an older Stampin’ Up set that has 4 great sentiments called Wonderful Words.

Thank You Handmade Card

The paper is from the Studio Calico Snippets collection. Recently, I’ve been working on adding the little groupings on cards. I always like the way they look when other people do them, but I find the cohesive randomness needed for a nice looking grouping often out of my reach. It’s still hard for me to use things that seem random to me, but look like they work in the end. It’s a great way to use up leftover bits and pieces though. I guess I’ll just have to keep practicing (OH NO ;)!)

Wow, such a good weekend! It was nice getting so many cards made. The ones I will be sharing today were made for The Paper Girls and the Raisin Boat Challenges. The first 2 were created specifically for The Paper Girls Challenge 24: Wood Elements. I recently bought some Studio Calico wood embellishments for no good reason other than they were REALLY cute and lately I’ve been pretty addicted to typewriters. (Un)Luckily, a lot of companies are coming out with some amazing typewriter stamps, embellishments and die cuts.

Hello!

Hello!

I used the great little Studio Calico typewriter & some of the new Basic Grey Fiction collection that I told myself I had to use after I was really naughty at JoAnns.

Day Dreaming

Day Dreaming

The Daydream sentiment is from that same pack of Studio Calico goodness and the card is based on one I saw in the new Paper Crafts challenges magazine. I was trying to use up some scraps I had and this was a really good project for that. I actually made another card with the sentiment “Dream Away” using 2 words from that same package.

The third card was made for the Raisin Boat Challenge #7: “Love is in the Air”. I knew I wanted to float something from the clouds and when I saw that there were little hearts in the new Close To My Heart wooden embellishment package I bought, I knew they would be perfect for both. The sentiment is from the embellishments for the Basic Grey Fact & Fiction line.

Love is in the Air

I drew a simple little border around it and tied it all up with a bow. Now I can take these cards and use them to send out the swap ATCs and Rolo I made!

This is the first time I’ve made something to enter in more than one challenge. This is for the Lawnscaping Challenge on Tags and the Raisin Boat Challenge #6 Thank You. I used a Raisin Boat set I got from a friend called Central Park and some Lawn Fawn stamps that I’ve been wanting to play with called Blissful Botanicals.

Challenge Tag for Raisin Boat and Lawnscaping

I like that the tag looks quite layered even though there is only one layer. Then I added a little texture and dimension with the twine and button. Everything is colored with my Beloved Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Lately, I’ve been wanting to work on bringing in more elements and still having the finished card or tag look cohesive rather than chaotic.
