I’ve said it before, but I really like using sketches. Having a slightly restrictive guideline really helps me. This time I went for an even more challenging experience and combined a sketch from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge with a theme and inspiration photo from The Cat’s Pajamas.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #272

Here’s my combined interpretation.

Tuesday sketch and TCP Halloween card by Crafting{without}Kids

I caught Jack!

I used the basic sketch to make a Halloween card. Instead of the star that is supposed to be caught by the bunny in the Wish stamp set, I added a little pumpkin and paper pieced his fancy moon.  I thought the hanging down pumpkin mimicked the ornaments falling in the second inspiration picture from TCP.  Of course, I needed to stickle his nose and the pumpkin! 🙂 The sentiment is from one of my favorite Tim Holtz sets called Simple Sayings.

I really enjoy sketch challenges. They provide a great framework to let your creativity fly. I find having a few restrictions to actually be very freeing. The sketch I used this time is from My Favorite Things for their Sketch Challenge.

And here is my take on it.

Sketch Challenge for My Favorite Things by Crafting{Without}Kids

Instead of a banner, I used a stamp and die from the My Favorite Things Grand Peaceful Wildflowers set. I LOVE how the stamps and dies work together. That flower would have been really difficult to cut out. The frame is from Spellbinders and is called Reflective Moment. It’s my first time using that die and I think it’s really beautiful. I combined two sentiments from the MFT stamp set Right on Target. The patterned papers are from Webster’s Pages Park Drive and the base is MFT cardstock.

I love how Springy this card turned out. It’s a perfect pick-me-up card after this long Winter. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Everyone! I’ve recently started to do more sketch challenges when possible. I find that they’re just the right amount of direction and rules. I can still use whatever products I feel like working with, and I can almost always pick the theme, but I’m not staring at a blank piece of cardstock thinking…”ok, now I just need to make something!” I’m new to Tuesday Morning Sketches so here goes nothing! Here is the sketch for this week:

Here’s my take:

I choose You!

I choose You!

Here’s a little detail. I used a star pick I had and wrapped a Tim Holtz Tattered Banner around it to make a love flag.

The sentiment is from Flourishes. Since I’m not on any design teams or anything I use A LOT of different companies’ products so if there is anything you are curious about, just ask me in the comments and I can probably tell you! (Might be a bit outdated though 😉 ) More soon!
